CARE: Celebrating Asylum Seekers and Refugees
Borderlands (South West) Ltd
This project will launch a mentoring scheme for people to support asylum seekers and refugees in the local area. People will receive training to improve their listening skills and understanding of others so they can help refugees to deal with the many challenges they face in successfully integrating into the community, such as applying for jobs, learning English and finding housing. There will also be a public exhibition to raise awareness of why some people are forced to seek sanctuary.
Funding requested: £48,254
