Giving Children with Down Syndrome a Voice
Hands Up for Downs
The project will extend services available for children with Down’s syndrome, teaching them Makaton sign language and providing better support by tailoring sessions to individual needs. Helping children communicate with people around them means they are more likely to make friends and more likely to access further education and employment as well as lead more independent lives. Support will also help children express opinions, desires, ideas, love and kindness.
